Tom Yam Goon Ingredients

  • 150 grams prawn peeled and deveined
  • 200 ml. water or stock
  • slices galangal
  • 80 grams mushroom cut in half
  • 1 tomato cut into to 4 pieces
  • 5 small chillies crushed
  • 1 tbsp. fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp. lime juice
  • 3 kaffir lime leaves torn into pieces discarding the stem
  • 2 spring onion cut into 1”
  • a bunch of coriander, long coriander roughly chopped
  • 2 clove garlic crushed
  • 1 shallot sliced
  • ½ onion
  • 1 stalk lemongrass broken up and sliced into 3 cm strips

Tom Yam Goon Cooking Methods

  • Put the water in a pan and bring to the boil. Add the garlic, shallots, onion, lemongrass and galangal and bring to boil.
  • Add the prawns, mushroom, fish sauce and kaffir lime leaves.
  • Bring to the boil or simmer until the prawns are cooked.
  • Add the chilli paste, tomato and fresh milk and stir thoroughly.
  • Turn of the heat and add the lime juice, chillies and sprinkle with the chopped spring onion, coriander.
